I will take my money elsewhere. I do not wish to deal with a company like yours. It is no one's business but mine what I listen to.
This is not about facebook integration maybe to you guys it is. It is about a lack of options. I am not a customer and based on the contents of this thread never will be. I want total privacy. A user name I have chosen. No connection to FB at all. I really mean none at all. But thanks for posting. I have heard nice things about spotify. However I have not ever listened to music on it. And now I never will.
This is about my privacy. From looking things over I would always have to have everything set to privacy. They are worried about my having extra passwords and such??
How about all the work that I would have to go through to keep everything I am doing private? My money will spend better elsewhere it appears. Hey kardworx, I'm not trying to change your mind or your opinions, you can think whatever you want. As far as I understand it you have to have a Facebook account to post here in the Community, unless you had a Spotify account from before September 22, when the Facebook integration was turned on.
But you say that you don't use Spotify and never have, therefore you must have a Facebook account, which makes some of your comments here seem a bit hypocritical. Why is this hypocritical? I stated earlier I do not wish for the two to be connected. I use FB for one thing and had planned on using Spotify for something else. I don't wish for the two to touch. If I am going to pay Spotify I should have that right. I came on here to find out how to accomplish that, and understand now it ain't gonna happen.
I didn't take your post as an attempt to change my mind. I have been searching for a replacement for my napster acount. I use whatever music service to set up my next radio show show every other week on community radio. I just need a tool to set up playlists so when I get to the station I can just go grab the cds stack in order and play them.
Obviously this has nothing todo with my FB. I see you cannot permanently close an account here. I originally left Spotify after the free use limits on May , but later, got money so I decided to give the paid version a go. But now I read about this Facebook requirement and have second thoughts. This is a really stupid idea.
Reading further into this, it looks like Sean Parker, a guy with stock for both Spotify and Facebook, is behind all of this crap. If he has the power to decide "there shall be no new users without Facebook anymore", he probably also has power to decide "all users must use Facebook at some point" once Spotify gets enough Facebook-using subscribers. Reverse this decision and I'll probably sign up for premium, but not like this. You don't have to remove the FB integration, but you must give an option to register without Facebook like it was before.
Some of my family are now unable to sign up. Sam: No, you are not listening at all. There is no option to sign up without Facebook. Stop pretending that you care because you obviously do not. So it looks like it is possible to set up a Spotify account without Facebook through partnering companies. My mother is a Sonera customer and apparently was able to make me an account through that, no Facebook requirements.
But that doesn't solve all problems, there are many people out there willing to sign up but unable to get past that dumb Facebook requirement. It's such a stupid decision you have made.
Please reverse this decision so everyone can go on Spotify, not just Facebook users or customers of certain partnering companies. Clearly I'm not the only user extremely dissatisfied with the log in from Facebook bugaboo. As we think our users are social. However he did admit that they could change the policy if the response was negative: "We'll try lots of things, and probably screw up from time to time, but we value feedback and will make changes based on it.
He has worked on What Hi-Fi? In his spare time he enjoys mixing vinyl and cycling. What Hi-Fi? Joe Cox. Log in Social login does not work in incognito and private browsers.
