CS Note: All the values in the chart below were recalculated based on the uncut gem values in the original table, with the exception of the three new Supernatural stones which used values from the game files. After an uncut gem has been kept in your sim's inventory for some time, the sim will become nauseous. Once the sim has become nauseous, you can take the uncut Tiberium out of the sim's inventory and the ore will change into a Large Spire Cut which glows green.
You can also get it cut yourself into either a Spire or Heart cut; the spire cut costs , and given 24 hrs will turn into a Large Spire Cut of its own accord. There should be spawn points and occasionally a merchant in egypt sells it.
In both uncut and spire form, it periodically puts off a glowing green "splash" and has a soft "ping" sort of noise that goes off at the same time. In Large Spire Cut form it is incredibly valuable - upwards of 40, simoleons. The info for Polished Split Cut is below. Heart Cut information is above in the Regular Gem Cuts table. Your sims can also locate various rocks and ores scattered around your neighbourhood to collect and sell.
These ores can be smelted by sending them off by mail. The next time the mail comes, your sims can check the mail and retrieve the ingots, which can then be sold or displayed. Ingots will stack on top of each other.
Though Mercury starts as an ore, when smelted it returns to you as a liquid in a vial Mercury is a liquid at room temperature rather than an ingot. Solid mercury is available through Transfiguration. Compendium may be collected as a regular ore, or is available via Transfiguration. It cannot be purchased. All this extra sand in our sandbox is marred by a few high-profile exclusions. The aforementioned giant spooky tree will need to be modded to show up in CAW, as it's not automatically enabled.
Worse still, actually it is there, I was misinformed. Every single one of the new minor pet spawners is missing from the metadata panel. We can hope this is resolved quickly, but with EA's slow and often lacklustre patching efforts, nobody should be holding their breath. The differences in climate from the base game standard feel pretty minimal, this isn't a world with a drastically different climate to Sunset Valley, the way Twinbrook and Bridgeport were, but it works as a perpetually sunny, slightly autumnal place.
There are, as we've come to expect from EA, some major construction flaws: Two very glaring holes in the non-routing paint, and one intersection not connected to its road.
Aside from that, the routing data looks a bit suspect in places, although perhaps that was all broken in the process of getting the world file to open in CAW, it's hard to say. In the end, this world is superb to look at, and plays very well - although if anyone experiences mystery lag then the routing issues are liable to be the culprits, at least sometimes. Appaloosa Plains is a world well-worth having, with plenty to broaden the scope of Create-a-World projects, and lots of artistic details that will inspire world-builders to try that much harder.
Its flaws are eclipsed truly by its beauty, so forget the horrible worlds we've seen from The Sims 3 Store recently , and pick up The Sims 3 Pets to see how a real world is done!
A beautiful palette with excellent sculpting, this is one of the EA's finest jobs. Lovely details, like snake dens, dinosaur fossils, and creepy eyes in hollow trees add just enough charm to the landscape. The lots are simple and all built well, and they are worked into the world seamlessly. Some of EA's best building and decorating to date. The all new rabbitholes are very welcome, and work into the town perfectly as well. The Sims are made well, although they are a tad pudding-faced sometimes.
Recommended Method of Obtaining: If you find it, grab it. Difficulty: This can easily be the hardest mushroom to find, due to the random nature of all methods of obtaining it. How I got it: Bought it at the elixir consignment shop. Truffles Acquiring Notes: Truffles can be purchased from the grocery store, the Humble Harvest Stand, and the elixir consignment shop.
In addition, in the wild, it is a very common spawn. Chamomile Acquiring Notes: As with all of the new plants that came with University Life, this can be bought from the Humble Harvest Stand or bought from the grocery store. Bumbleleaf Acquiring Notes: As with all of the new plants that came with University Life, this can be bought from the Humble Harvest Stand or bought from the grocery store. How I got it: The first time I got a flame fruit was from the pyramid in Egypt.
Note: This fruit gives off the same moodlets as a fireplace and the plant, when harvest ready, actually provides light for sims to see by. I recommend this plant for in-home decoration, especially during winter. How I got it: Found a seed for it in the wild and grew it. Additionally, the baby black dragon can summon them or one can win them by beating the Reaper in a guitar duel using the Door of Life and Death. Recommended Method of Obtaining: Find out where the plant is at your local graveyard, wait for it to be harvest ready, then harvest.
Difficulty: These can be difficult to find, due to the fact they have so few sources. Money Tree Acquiring Notes: You have to find a special seed that is for a money tree. That is the only method to obtain this plant for growing. Difficulty: A money tree can be, easily, the most difficult of all of the listed plants to find. Egg Acquiring Notes: Eggs are bought from the grocery store and found in your fridge. However, to grow them as a plant, you have to complete a high-level gardening opportunity.
Recommended Method of Obtaining: Get to planting and raising crops! Just tedious. How I got it: I made the effort to complete the opportunity, smiled, and moved on. Note: This is one of the few plants that, for some reason, has no auto-soil or other spawner in buydebug. Cheese Acquiring Notes: Cheeses are bought from the grocery store and found in your fridge. Patty Acquiring Notes: Patties are bought from the grocery store and found in your fridge.
Steak Acquiring Notes: Steaks are bought from the grocery store and found in your fridge. Omni-Plant Acquiring Notes: Omni-plants must be ordered through the mail.
But, you must complete a high-level gardening opportunity to acquire them. Forbidden Fruit Acquiring Notes: To obtain this, you need to get your science skill to at least level 9. I recommend the full Then, use the gene splicing experiment on seeds until you get a forbidden fruit seed. After that, plant the seed. It cannot be bought in the store. Recommended Method of Obtaining: Use common-quality seeds for the gene splicing.
How I got it: I made the effort to complete the experiment successfully, smiled, and moved on. Still trying to find our fishing poles. Doctor Johnson disappeared; all we find of him is this grey goo…. GPS confused on what counts as a sea shore.
In general, the gnomes are slightly easier to collect than others; you can buy every single one of them in Buydebug. As such, I will not list that method, but instead listing the legitimate methods.
Mysterious Mr. Gnome Acquiring Notes: Exploring catacombs, sending gems and metals off through the mail to be cut or smelted, using the miner, fishing, transfiguration using the display cases, possible item from the criminal career tract, possible reward for the Investigator profession, or any possibilities I have not listed here that reward one.
How I obtained: I got my first one when I sent a pink diamond off to be cut into a heart-shaped cut. My first pink diamond, and I needed it for a simbot. I do not think I need to repeat what dark things I muttered that day. Now do all of that in Egypt. It can also be found in Egyptian tombs. In addition, this gnome and the other two World Adventures gnomes can be found in the museum in France. Recommended Method of Obtaining: Steal it from the museum. Difficulty: This should be even easier than the Mysterious Mr.
Now do all of that in China. It can also be found in Chinese tombs. Now do all of that in France. It can also be found in French tombs. How I obtained: I stole it from the French museum.
I later returned it when I acquired another in a French tomb. Abracadabra the Magical Gnome of Laundry Acquiring Notes: This gnome is found by using expensive washers and dryers, typically when your sim collects laundry from the dryer.
Recommended Method of Obtaining: Do massive loads of laundry. You can do it while mastering athletics and martial arts for using the board breaker. Difficulty: Not very difficult at all. How I obtained: I found one with laundry while not expecting it.
The Magical Gnome of Inventing Acquiring Notes: This gnome is found randomly when inventing to discover inventions or while trying to make inventions. It can also be found randomly using the miner. Recommended Method of Obtaining: Break out the inventing skill. How I obtained: I leveled the inventing skill and one popped up at random.
It can also be found using the miner. Recommended Method of Obtaining: Sculpt a lot. The statues are worth money anyway, and if you sculpt in stone you can also discover other collectibles. How I obtained: I was sculpting in clay to discover new statues when I accidentally made one. Note: This gnome will vary in appearance, depending on the material you were sculpting in when you discovered it.
Troglodyte the Magical Gnome of B. Acquiring Notes: It can be discovered by traveling using the Ambitions time machine or through the adventure tunnels made by the miner. Recommended Method of Obtaining: Buydebug. Difficulty: This one can be surprisingly hard to find, as I have never gotten it to appear for me. How I obtained: Buydebug. Difficulty: This one can be surprisingly annoying to find, due to the particulars of the celebrity system.
I had to stop trying the celebrity method because I ran out of space for the number of cowplants necessary to discourage paparazzi. Magical Vampire Gnome Acquiring Notes: This gnome will appear on your lot if you raise plasma bushes. Recommended Method of Obtaining: Raise plasma bushes. Difficulty: This one should not be difficult to find at all. How I obtained: I was raising plasma bushes when one showed up.
I ended up with three of them before the bushes were finally wilted. Note: This gnome may not be one you want around for households with children. It will reproduce by converting stray teddy bears into more of its type. It can also give nonvampire sims lacking the Brave trait the Hunted moodlet. Carter Caninenimus Acquiring Notes: Can appear when a dog does dog-like things and is a best friend of the owner. Also can appear when a dog gives birth.
Difficulty: These have a very low chance of spawning, which can be frustrating if you are trying to collect them. Felix Felinenimus Acquiring Notes: Can appear when a cat gets the Whacked Out moodlet from catnip or when a cat gives birth. Dogs barking at the fridge can also get it to come out. Difficulty: Of the Pets gnomes, these have the lowest chance of spawning. Zenyatta Acquiring Notes: Can appear when a horse licks salt lick for a long period of time.
Chance to appear goes up as the horse licks the salt lick. Horses require a large portion of your lot as an investment, and you may need the space for other things while investing in a second lot just to hold them can be extremely expensive.
Difficulty: This gnome tends to be, in my experience, the easiest to get to spawn. Also, a genie summoning objects can summon one. Recommended Method of Obtaining: Level the Magician career. Difficulty: Not very difficult, though their appearance is random. Recommended Method of Obtaining: Level the Singer career. Note: This gnome will give a sim the Melodic Masterpiece moodlet if on the lot and nearby. Recommended Method of Obtaining: Play around with the Claaaw!
Alternatively, it can be purchased at the Summer Festival for tickets. Recommended Method of Obtaining: Tickets. How I obtained: Tickets. Cracklin Nackerbell Acquiring Notes: Trick or treating, going through the haunted house, or having a scarecrow on your lot can get this witchy gnome to fly in.
Alternatively, it can be purchased at the Autumn Festival for tickets. How I obtained: I actually got two at once. I sent a sim through the haunted house to get one while another showed up on my lot.
